Frequently asked questions
FAQ
How can I book an appointment?
You can find all the necessary contact information in the Contact section. You’re welcome to call – if I’m unable to answer, I always return the call. You can also reach out via email – I do my best to respond as quickly as possible. I encourage you to use the online booking system. If you don’t see a convenient time slot, please contact me by phone or email.
How many sessions are needed to feel better?
This depends on the individual and the nature of the difficulty. Some problems can be addressed within a few sessions, while others – such as chronic depression, addictions, or personality disorders – may require longer-term therapy lasting several months or even years.
Usually, after a few sessions, I can estimate an approximate duration of the therapeutic process. Much depends on the patient’s engagement and our collaborative work. It’s important to remember that with some conditions, personal development is a lifelong journey – therapy requires time and patience.
Sessions are held once a week and last 50 minutes.
Can a consultation be stopped at any time?
Yes. I understand that discussing difficult experiences can be emotionally demanding. The well-being and comfort of the patient are my priorities. You can end a single session or the entire therapeutic process at any time.
What forms of payment are accepted?
I currently accept payments in cash, via BLIK, or by bank transfer. Card payments are in the process of being introduced. For EEG Biofeedback training, there is also an option to pay in advance for a discounted session package.
Are sessions held online or in person?
I prefer in-person sessions, but I understand that it’s not always possible. Each consultation can also be scheduled online – simply choose the appropriate option in the booking system or contact me directly.
EEG Biofeedback training is available only in person.
Does a minor need to attend the first session with a guardian?
Yes. A minor must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the first consultation, who will provide consent for therapy. For future sessions, teenagers may attend independently.
Can I get a prescription?
As a psychologist, I am not authorized to issue prescriptions. However, if necessary, I can refer you to the appropriate medical specialist.
Can I receive a diagnosis?
I can provide a preliminary diagnosis based on DSM-5 and ICD-10/11 criteria. I currently do not issue formal diagnoses for ADHD or autism spectrum disorders.
What happens during the first consultation?
The first 2–3 sessions are introductory – I conduct a detailed interview to understand the reported issue and explore the family, health, and work context.
After this stage, I present a preliminary therapy plan and discuss it with the patient. Subsequent sessions focus on addressing the issues and improving well-being. In some cases, one or two sessions may be enough.
Is confidentiality guaranteed?
Yes, I am bound by professional confidentiality. Exceptions apply only in cases of:
-
threat to the life or health of the patient or others,
-
a court order,
-
suspected child abuse – in such cases, I am legally obliged to notify the appropriate services.
Is frequent sadness a reason to see a psychologist?
Yes. Persistent sadness, even if there’s an identifiable cause, may be a symptom of depression. If it interferes with daily life, it’s worth speaking with a specialist. Sometimes just one or a few sessions can bring relief and help you better understand your emotions.
